At StudyForge ("we", "our") we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and what your rights are.

1. Data we collect

We collect the following types of information when you use the app:

• Account data: email address and password (stored securely via Supabase Auth).
• User content: documents (PDF, DOCX) that you upload for AI processing.
• Usage data: study progress, quiz answers, and spaced-repetition intervals, required for the adaptive algorithm to work.
• Notification token: device identifier used to send study reminders (Firebase Cloud Messaging). Not used for advertising.
• Purchase data: credit purchase history managed by RevenueCat. We never store credit-card details — payments are processed by Apple or Google.

2. How we use your data

• Provide and improve StudyForge's features.
• Generate educational content (flashcards, questions) from your documents using AI.
• Compute and schedule your review sessions via the SM-2 algorithm.
• Send study-reminder notifications (which you can disable in your device settings).
• Manage your credits and in-app purchases.

3. Sharing data with third parties

We do not sell your personal data. We only share data with service providers required to operate the app:

• Supabase — database and authentication (EU-based servers).
• Railway — backend hosting that processes documents.
• Firebase (Google) — push notifications.
• RevenueCat — purchase and subscription management.
• OpenAI / AI providers — generation of educational content from the text of your documents.

All providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and may not use it for their own commercial purposes.

4. Data retention and deletion

We retain your data while your account is active. You can request full deletion of your account and associated data at any time by writing to the contact address below. Documents you upload are processed and not permanently stored on our servers beyond the time needed to generate the educational content.

5. Security

We use HTTPS for all communications, secure authentication via Supabase Auth, and Row-Level Security on the database to guarantee each user can only access their own data.

6. Minors

StudyForge is not directed at children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal data, contact us so we can remove it.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. We'll notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use of the app after notification implies acceptance of the changes.
